Brand New Shiny FanUpdate 3!
Rambled on Aug 29, 2010 ; related to Updates. 4 comments.
OK…The last few days have been hectic. I shall blog about them later since right now there are more important things.
Since two days before, I’ve been hunting for a FanUpdate alternative. I’ve tried Serendipity and some other programs, but I’ve come to the conclusion that FanUpdate is by far the best. Don’t get me wrong; Serendipity is a great WordPress alternative, but in the end it wasn’t the thing for me.
Now I have to reconfigure the settings and such, just like I did last year. Categories, CSS, etc…At least it’s a new, shiny, updated FanUpdate! ![]()

Fanupdate is semi-user friendly. The control panel is great~ The installation, though requires you to know somewhat about MySQL, meaning that you need a database to set it up.
To edit the templates you also need to know a good deal about HTML and CSS so that you don’t accidentally chop off something.
What I like best is the categories. This is related to my mini-OCD, since it’s all nice and sorted unlike some other blogging systems. That is partly why I returned to FanUpdate.
So yeah, FanUpdate is great~

I’ve never heard of Serendipity. :o FanUpdate is the best CMS for me. It’s a simple script that’s easy to integrate and it’s fairly safe to use.
